Using the service
What Shoes Are These? identifies shoes and bags from photos. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What an identification is — and isn't
An identification is an estimate made by an AI model from the photo you provide. It can be wrong, and the confidence we show is the model's own estimate, not a guarantee.
An identification is not authentication. We name the design; we do not determine whether a particular item is genuine, and nothing on the site should be read as a statement that an item is authentic or counterfeit. For that, use a professional authentication service.
Prices and availability on retailer sites change and are not controlled by us.
Your photos
You keep all rights to the photos you upload. You give us permission to process each photo only as needed to return your result, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You agree to upload only photos you have the right to use, and not to upload anything unlawful, sexually explicit or intended to identify or harass a person.
Fair use
To keep the service free, we limit how many photos one visitor can identify in a period of time. Please do not scrape the site, automate requests or try to get around these limits.
Affiliate links
Some links to retailers are affiliate links that may earn us a commission. This never changes which item we name or the confidence we show.
Paid features
Without an account you can try one identification a day. A free account gets a few identifications and one listing per day. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe.
The Seller Pass is a one-time payment for a signed-in account, shown before you pay and processed by Stripe. It includes 20 listings and 30 days of identifications without the daily limit (subject to a fair-use ceiling per day), starting from the moment you pay. It does not renew and is not a subscription. The pass is attached to the account you bought it with and works wherever you sign in.
Listings are drafts written from the identification and the details you enter. Check them against the item before you post; you are responsible for what you list. If the pass doesn't work or a listing fails, contact us within 14 days at support@whatshoesarethese.com and we will fix it or refund you.
Our content
The site's design, text and drawings belong to What Shoes Are These?. Brand and product names belong to their owners and are used only to describe items; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any brand we name.
No warranty and limits of liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on an identification — including purchases, sales or listings — or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top; continuing to use the site means you accept the new version.
